Private Properties

** in 2014 we decorated 33 private properties! **

Beacon Hill House, North Marden

Phillips Decorators were very excited when they were asked to tender for the redecorations at Beacon Hill House, a grade 2 listed building in North Marden, designed by the renowned architect Edward Cullinan in the late 1960’s. The house was built onto the slope of the hill with great imagination. The external timber work was redecorated with Sadolin Extra in Jacobean Oak. The transformation of the woodwork was amazing, even after only applying the first coat. On completion of the external work, it was nice to stand back and look how it totally changed the appearance of the whole of the outside of the house.
Internally, Phillips Decorators painted the lower part of the house, which included painting the walls and ceilings in Crown White Matt. The timber ceiling and wall cladding on the entrance to the upper floors was starting to look tired and aged and also had some water staining. We sanded out the water stain and then used Sadolin to coat the timber but at the same time we tried to keep the original timber colours evident, as requested by the client.
Once the whole project was completed, the client was extremely happy with the finish and the timely manner in which it took place. Phillips Decorators look forward to working on projects at such beautiful buildings just like this one in the near future.
Beacon Hill House is a post-war house with an imaginative plan, where the design makes the most of a challenging steeply-sloping hillside setting. A design where the materials, finish and attention to detail are of high quality with many original fixtures and fittings still in place.

Heathfield Close, Chandlers Ford

Phillips Decorators were called to a beautiful four bedroom detached property in Heathfield Close, Chandlers Ford by an insurance company to attend to a complete redecoration as a result of subsidence. The project was to apply emulsion to the ceilings and cross lining to the walls followed by applying emulsion to the walls. Also undercoat and gloss were applied to all of the woodwork.

The whole project was completed one week early and snag free, this delighted the home owners as they could move back into their house sooner than first anticipated.

Chandler's Ford is a largely residential area and civil parish in the Borough of Eastleigh in Hampshire, England, with a population of 21,436.

St Martins Square, Chichester

This property is situated in the historic St Martins Square in Chichester. The whole project started with the builders constructing a single storey extension to create a new kitchen and due to the poor condition of the walls, a skim coat of plaster was applied. Then Phillips Decorators were called in to start the decorations. Understandably as this is a period property, the owner requested the ceilings and woodwork to be painted white which keeps its looking fresh and vintage at the same time. The walls throughout the property were painted in a traditional sage green in a matt finish. The finished decorations looked amazing and gave this quaint property the uplift it needed.

This property in St Martins Square is a freehold terraced house located in this very sort after area in Chichester, it is an attractive tile hung property only 350 yards from the city Centre.
